When Bill Blumer began practicing law, he was drawn to the creativity it required to resolve client problems. “The best way to help clients,” he notes, “is to acknowledge their unique concerns and aspirations, and integrate these into a sound legal framework.” Bill practices in the areas of estate planning, elder law, estate administration, fiduciary litigation and business representation.
Elder law is Bill’s forte. He is one of the most highly regarded elder law attorneys in Berks County. In fact, he is one of fewer than 40 attorneys in Pennsylvania, and the only attorney practicing in Berks County
certified in elder law by the National Elder Law
Foundation. Bill has co-authored “Older and Wiser,” a
booklet-primer published by the Berks County Bar
Association that presents a variety of legal issues of
interest to senior citizens and their families.
Activities
Bill is the immediate past president
of the Berks County Estate Planning Council and
continues to serve on its board. Bill is a
volunteer at Berks Encore where he teaches its
Excellence in Fiduciary Service class. He is a former board member of the Reading Symphony Orchestra,
the Wyomissing Institute of Fine Arts, Berks Encore and
the Berks County of the American Red Cross.
Education
A graduate of Bucknell University, B.A. cum laude, he received his Juris Doctor from the Dickinson School of Law, and holds a Masters of Law degree in taxation from the Villanova University School of Law. “I want clients to feel they received more from the firm than they expected,” says Bill, “and that means more insight, more commitment and a more thoughtful application of the law to their circumstances.”
