Next generation of drunk drivers are being made

For those people in Reading who never drink and drive, they may wonder what is going through the mind of people who are about to get behind the wheel even though they are intoxicated. Surely these soon-to-be drunk drivers have heard drunk driving statistics or seen stories of drunk drivers causing severe injuries or death on the news. So, what possesses them to get behind the wheel?

Will there finally be a way to check truck drivers' hours?

Most people in Reading recognize that truck drivers can't be on the road all day, every day. They, just like the rest of us, need time to sleep, relax and rest. For them, it may be even more important, as a drowsy truck driver or one that can no longer pay attention to the road is putting themselves and everyone else on the road in danger. A fully loaded truck up against a standard-size car can cause severe injuries, which is why both the federal government and Pennsylvania have laws in place that dictate how long drivers can be behind the wheel.

Failure to stop leads to crash with school bus in Bradford County

It is the kind of telephone call that no parent wants to receive. Authorities in Bradford County, Pennsylvania, say that four students suffered injuries Wednesday morning in an accident involving a school bus. Three of the kids suffered relatively minor injuries and apparently were not taken to the hospital. However, one of the children was transported after the accident for medical evaluation and possibly treatment for undisclosed injuries. At the time of the crash, 14 kids were on the bus.

At least 30 hurt in 100-car pileup

Oftentimes, when someone is hurt in a crash, there is at least an idea of who might be responsible. This is important, as the responsible party can be sued for any personal injuries, wrongful deaths or property damage suffered in the accident. In a recent crash on the Pennsylvania Turnpike to the north of Philadelphia, it is less clear who is responsible.
