Man killed in intersection crash

On March 20, an accident involving a Pennsylvania Department of Transportation plow truck resulted in a 28-year-old Saylorsburg man's death. The fatal crash took place in Tunkhannock Township at the intersection of Allegheny Drive and Route 115. In addition to the fatality, at least one other person who was involved in the crash sustained injuries.

Lawsuit filed in connection with Pennsylvania minibus accident

Pennsylvania residents may recall media reports in April 2013 about an accident that involved a minibus that was struck by a train in Butler County. The driver of the minibus is serving 16 years of probation for his role in the accident, which claimed the lives of a 91-year-old woman and an 88-year-old man. Eight other minibus passengers suffered injuries in the crash. On March 16, families of the accident victims filed a lawsuit against the minibus driver claiming that he acted negligently on the day of the accident. The transportation agency that operated the minibus is also named as a defendant.

Driver takes plea deal after fatal motorcycle crash

On March 10, a man in Pennsylvania pleaded guilty to charges stemming from an accident that killed a motorcyclist on June 28, 2014. The crash involved a 1995 Ford Windstar van and a 2010 Victory motorcycle. The 64-year-old man who was driving the motorcycle was killed in the accident, and the 26-year-old man driving the van was handed several criminal charges.

Pennsylvania trucker headed to trial for vehicular homicide

The defense attorney for an Allentown, Pennsylvania trucker said he plans to argue the defendant had no criminal intent when his tractor-trailer hit a 2000 Ford Taurus and killed a 65-year-old man in a fiery crash. The truck driver was unhurt in the accident on Interstate 78, but he was charged with recklessly endangering other people, involuntary manslaughter and vehicular manslaughter.
