The summertime brings many different types vehicles to Pennsylvania. Each of these vehicles has the right to use the roadways safely. This includes motorcycles, cars, trucks, passenger vans, commercial busses and more. Each of these different types of vehicles poses its own safety hazards to others on the roadway. They also each face their own unique risks when travelling.
However, few vehicles face as much risk as motorcycles. Motorcycles do not have the types of protection that other vehicles are equipped with. This includes seat belts, safety glass, steel cages and more. Therefore, when a car accident involves a motorcycle, the risk of injuries and deaths to the motorcycle operator is much higher.
Sadly, a recent Pennsylvania motorcycle accident resulted in the death of three people. This incident involved both a sedan and a motorcycle. According to reports, the sedan was lost control of at around 7:00 p.m. That vehicle then hit a motorcycle.
The 46-year-old driver of the motorcycle was pronounced dead on the scene. The motorcyclist's wife was flown to a local hospital following the accident. However, the 44-year-old woman did not survive the accident. Additionally, a 65-year-old man was also killed in the accident. Police are investigating the accident to try and determine why it occurred.
Deadly car accidents can be shocking to the families of the victims. When negligence is involved in the accident the negligent party can be held responsible. Through a wrongful death lawsuit, families of car accident victims can receive compensation for their losses. This includes compensation for medical expenses, funeral costs, lost wages and more.
