A horrific deadly car accident killed one man and injured another passenger last Friday night in Greenwich, Township Pennsylvania. The accident occurred on the eastbound interstate. A 1999 model vehicle and its 22 year old driver, along with a 35 year old passenger were on the side of the road from a previous accident when a tractor trailer jackknifed and struck the disabled car as well as the driver who was standing near the car. The driver was thrown back on the highway, where he died at the scene. The passenger was also injured in the crash. The truck driver was not injured.
Accidents involving cars and trucks often lead to catastrophic or deadly results. And with the winter months already upon is, it is even more important for driver to stay fully aware of the potential dangers. While negligence, distracted driving, texting while driving and driving under the influence often plays a role in accidents, even more unforeseeable accidents such as this one can occur at any time.
It remains to be seen whether negligence played any role in this accident. But it is not uncommon for accidents involving cars and trucks to be the fault of the truck driver. Trucking logs, police reports and even crash reconstructions can help determine the cause of an accident.
If you or someone you know has been the victim of a car accident, you may be entitled to compensation. An award may include not only payments for medical expenses and lost wages, but also pain and suffering.
