Fatal car crash claims life of pedestrian in Berks County

Given the vulnerabilities of pedestrians, when there is a crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian, there can be serious injuries and it can become a fatal accident. Berks County residents must be aware on the road as pedestrians. Even if they are cognizant of traffic and adhering to all the traffic laws, that does not mean that a pedestrian-auto accident will not happen. For those who are hurt or lose a lose a loved one in a fatal accident, it is important to understand how to pursue compensation in a wrongful death legal filing.

A man was hit by two vehicles as he crossed the street and was later declared dead at the scene emergency personnel. The drivers of the vehicles stayed at the scene and were brought to the police station to be questioned. The investigation is ongoing as the police were waiting to reveal the man's identity to the public until his family was notified.

People who are injured in a pedestrian-car accident are not accorded the protection of being in another vehicle. As a result, they are likely to, at a minimum, need medical treatment. They might have massive medical expenses from an extended hospital stay, need surgery, and rehabilitation. The person will often have trouble getting back to work and returning to normal. The family might have to find a way to provide care. If there is a fatality, there are a host of other issues that will come up. These include funeral costs and the personal acceptance of the loss of companionship. There could also be the financial component that must be dealt with.

With this pedestrian-car accident still under investigation, its circumstances are still in flux. That makes it even more imperative that his family of the man who died protect itself with legal help. For that, they should contact an experienced attorney to discuss pursuing a claim for a fatal car crash.
